Pepsi vs. Coca-Cola & Chobani

Pepsi's mocking commercials are great examples of market challenger strategy.

Chobani's Chobani | Kitchen infomercials very successfully reflect their mission and differentiation. This is one of my favorites:

  1. The Chobani commercial is pretty impressive. It's relaxing, not throwing sales or promotions at you. It's just pleasant to watch and it doesn't even feel like an ad so I think it will make people be more inclined to watch. The product placement isn't in your face but you know what the brand is. It looks delicious. I think this is an extremely effective campaign.

  3. I love this commercial! This ad does a great job of two things: first, it highlight Chobani's product differentiation. While it is never directly stated, the commercial implies that Chobani is made from fresh, wholesome ingredients--they do so by showing other whole, fresh ingredients to make various foods. By showing these in a parallel context, it makes the viewer think of these ingredients and associate wholesomeness with Chobani.
Second, they are reaching out to a new market. While not everyone eats Chobani or Greek yogurt in general, this commercial says "Buy this product anyway because it has other uses!" They're capturing another segment of the market and expanding their customer base. My favorite part: Who knew you could put Greek yogurt in guacamole??
